New! Survival Tactics for Deadly Encounters - 2 DayThis course is designed to give the officer insight into deadly encounters through four officers who have experienced these life threatening situations and lived to tell the tale. All four of the surviving officers who are instructing in the testimonial portion of the class were shot in the line of duty and either killed or returned fire on their assailants. The two day course will include classroom discussions with these officers (including question and answer periods). Mobile Field Force Tactics and Deployment - 3 DayStudents will be instructed in the Mobile Field Force concept to be implemented such as to provide rapid response by on-duty first responders and other specialized units to any critical incident. All aspects of Mobile Field Force will be covered, including: history of civil disorders, organization, formations and movements, use of force, use of specialty equipment, and inclusion of support personnel (i.e., K-9, Aviation, EMT's, etc.). Students will participate in classroom and practical exercises. Mobile Field Force Tactics and Deployment - 5 DayStudents will receive all elements of the above-listed 3 Day course in addition to extensive specialty equipment usage. Tactical applications of Tasers in crowd management situations will be covered. Less lethal / chemical munitions overview and practical applications are also included. Specialty equipment is a requirement for these 2 courses as follows:
Riot Helmets Mobile Field Force for Command Staff - 1 DayThis course will familiarize Command Staff personnel with tactics and procedures for dealing with crowd management issues. Staff will become trained in when and how to successfully deploy a mobile field force and appropriate utilization of support personnel. Leadership issues, including pre-planning for major events and justifications for implementation of the MFF as the most effective response to civil disorder issues. Limited practical exercises will be included. Incident Command SystemsAny agency that receives federal preparedness assistance funding must be NIMS (National Incident Management System) compliant which means they must train in and use ICS. This means, by strict definition, all federal, state, local, tribal, private sector and non-governmental personnel with a direct role in emergency management and response must be NIMS and ICS trained. The NIMS Integration Center (NIC) has defined what levels of personnel require what level of training as follows:
Entry Level: LETR offers the 2 following courses and can provide other ICS training tailored to your agency's needs. Incident Command System / WMD - 1 DayThe student will receive classroom delivery of ICS-100, ICS-200 and IS-700 in compliance with NIMS standards. This 8 hour block of instruction is limited to 35 students per class and is suitable to Entry Level and First Line category personnel as listed above. Incident Command System / WMD - 4 DayThe student will receive classroom and practical delivery of ICS-300, and ICS-400 (Intermediate and Advanced ICS). This 32 hour block of instruction is limited to 15 students per class because of the extensive curriculum and tabletop/practical exercises. A minimum of 3 instructors will conduct this highly developed curriculum delivery. This course is intended for Middle Management and Command Staff categories as listed above. Chemical MunitionsThe Chemical Munitions course is a comprehensive three day class that provides a basic understanding of the history and use of chemical munitions. Students will become familiar with the capabilities of all munitions currently available to civilian law enforcement. The student will develop a thorough understanding and knowledge of each type of deployment system, enabling them to safely deploy the proper chemical munitions based upon the situation at hand. Students will learn proper decontamination procedures and will be given the opportunity to demonstrate proficiency by deploying / utilizing all types of munitions and launching systems. Less Lethal Weapons and MunitionsThe two day Less Lethal Specialty Impact Weapons course is designed to teach the student to safely and effectively apply less lethal force options to subdue violent or hostile subjects. Students will become familiar with the capabilities of all munitions currently available to civilian law enforcement. The student will develop a thorough understanding and knowledge of each type of deployment system and its capabilities, thereby enabling them to safely deploy the proper less lethal munition and force appropriate to the situation at hand. Move to Contact/Active Shooter - Train the Trainer - 2 DayThis course will enable participants to return to their agencies and provide on-site Move to Contact / Active Shooter training. Students will be instructed in Move to Contact rapid deployment of first responders to critical active shooter situations particularly in school or industrial locations. All aspects, including tactics for open areas, stairwells, hallways, room clearings, etc., will be covered. Familiarization with likely IEDs will be conducted. Numerous practical exercises in first responder team entrances will be provided. Ground Defense Skills - 3 DayThe three day school will teach the basic movements while engaged in ground resistance. The student will cover the following material:
